Jump For Joy in a Festive Party Ready Jumpsuit

Updated: Dec 15, 2019

Last night, I attended a holiday party in what year after year has been my go-to Holiday party outfit. It's not a little black dress or a sparkly cocktail dress, and it's definitely not an ugly sweater.

Since jumpsuits made a fashion come back a few years ago I have wholeheartedly embraced them. I have a favorite I have worn to multiple weddings, and an extra revealing favorite I have worn for nights out. I have another favorite that has made several appearances at important meetings. The one I wore last night was simple, velvet, and as easy to wear as throwing it on and zipping it up. No shaving legs or pulling on stockings required!

Since I love jumpsuits so much, it only seemed right that this post include a few of my favorite jumpsuit moments from previous years.

And of course, I had to include last night's jumpsuit moment!

While a dress is generally appropriate for holiday season parties, it will rarely have the same impact as a jumpsuit. Jumpsuits can be just as beautiful and polished as a dress while offering an out-of-the-box wow factor. They can be retro or modern and often pair well with bold jewelry and a classic pump.

I really enjoy a jumpsuit in a buttery cream satin fabric. It's sexy and understated, and a fabric that is really reserved for special occasions or lingerie.

I also love jumpsuits in a bold color. I normally wouldn't wear red, but something about this bright red jumpsuit is really appealing to me.

My favorite part of jumpsuits is that it is pretty much impossible to create a jumpsuit that does not define the waist in some way. Whether it's the use of elastic, or a well-placed belt, your waist is not going to get lost in a sea of fabric when wearing a jumpsuit.

I always enjoy a jumpsuit with a little extra sparkle, like the one shown below.

And of course, my favorite jumpsuit fabric for holiday time is velvet/velour! It is truly the most comfortable fabric with a little bit of stretch and warmth.
