Versed Overnight Facial Peel Is More Than Just Pretty Packaging

One Friday evening, I was at Target and bought something I didn't need.

I was wooed by the cute millennial pink packaging, very reasonable $20 price tag and before I knew it, I had purchased Versed "The Shortcut" Overnight Facial Peel. According to the packaging, it is designed to improve your skins texture and tone as you sleep.

Upon returning home, I cleansed my face, applied my serums and prepared to try my new product. This peel has lactic acid and glycolic acid, which I knew were chemical exfoliants. I had previously used glycolic toners and cleansers, which were sometimes irritating. But this product claimed to be gentle and non-irritating, so I didn't know what to expect. Applying it felt just like applying any moisturizer. It was creamy and smooth; it didn't burn my eyes or nose. It gave my skin an instantly plumped and moisturized look.

The next morning, I worked at 3 am. Yes, 3 am. As I was setting up to start my clients, a fellow hairstylist complimented my skin and demanded that I tell her everything I was using. After only one night of use, I really didn't know what to make of this compliment. Is it the overnight peel?! Is that even possible?

Over the next week my skin remained clear and bright. I woke up every morning with a rosy glow. It wasn't red or irritated, it was just an extra touch of freshness that you generally experience after a good facial. As a disclaimer, I must inform you that it is not advised to use it every night. The packaging recommends 2-3 nights a week. But I figured since I am an avid user of chemical exfoliants, I was safe to use it every night. I wouldn't assume this is the case for everyone and I would recommend using your discretion and knowledge of your own skin to decide what's best for you.

Just over a week later (9 days to be exact) I can say that I absolutely recommend this product. I saw a huge improvement in the tone of my skin, and a subtle but still visible improvement in the texture of my skin.

I would recommend this product to anyone looking to improve their skin as they sleep so basically, I will be recommending it to anyone and everyone I meet.
